Familial

Over the radio commentary
The car engine roared - an
old man heavy with the burden
of transporting victims to the undefined

I heard her story of denial
of blessed holy articles
standing still and relinquishing
Once chosen, it is defined

Cancer beneath her skin - a string of pearls
strung, in situ, along her delicate tissue
my moist eyes full of facts and reason
They imprinted more than they described

There are no accidents

Day 3 of the 30 Day Poetry Challenge for National Poetry Month 2012 is turn to page 8 in the book nearest you.  Use the first ten words to write a poem.  The words can be in any order.
